Farewell to Great Club Member, Murray Sherlock

Murray Sherlock who was a Vice-President of both Karori Cricket Club and Cricket Wellington has died at Wellington aged 90.

Murray had just one premier game for Karori in 1963 but had a long career with the club in the lower grades. He scored many runs as a solid opening batsman and took wickets with his slow-medium left arm deliveries that yielded three hat tricks.

Murray served on the board of Cricket Wellington and managed Wellington rep teams.

He was a plumbing contractor who was closely involved in the design and construction of the first cricket pavilion at Karori Park which was incorporated in the current clubrooms.

We offer our condolences to his family.
