Welcome to
KARORI CRICKET CLUB

Introducing our new CE and Board Chair

 General

Exciting updates for Karori Cricket! We welcome our new board chair, our new CE and introduce our new Karori Cricket Club.

From 2023, the Junior and Senior committees have unified under a single banner - Karori Cricket Club (KCC). Through generous financial support, the club has appointed our first ever CEO to ensure we go from strength to strength. The CEO is supported by a Board - a dedicated group of volunteers who freely give of their time, skills and experiences.

Our CEO and Board are responsible for setting the strategy of the club in line with Cricket Wellington, NZ Cricket and NZ Sport requirements, managing the day-to-day faciliation of the club to support player and coach development, and providing opportunities for our wider community to play or participate in cricket and other activities.

Paul Young - CEO
Former Cricket Wellington Competitions Manager and current Wellington U17 coach, Paul has years of cricket experience, starting with his own bat-making business and then in the sales and marketing team at New Zealand bat manufacturer Laver and Wood. While at CW, Paul not only organised all competitions, he also managed umpire appointments and the database of players, coaches and volunteers. Most recently, Paul was Director of Cricket at Easts and played a key role in creating a pathway for their women and girls. At KCC, Paul will be looking after a number of details throughout all grades, and we also look forward to his involvement coaching (level 2).

Sally Morrison - Board Chair
Sally was literally born into cricket when her birth was scheduled as to not interfere with her father, John Morrison's, test match. Sally has played and coached cricket at all levels, and has held governance and executive leadership roles not only in cricket but also in hockey and rugby league. She's passionate about growing the pie and creating more cricketing opportunities for players of all ages and stages.

We can't wait to welcome you back to our cricket community!
