CITY SUBURBS WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ CRICKET COMMUNITY
City Suburbs Women’s and Girls’ Cricket is an exciting initiative that began just a few years ago. It was created to provide cricket opportunities for women and girls of all ages living in Wellington’s central suburbs. Whether you're new to the game or have played before, this is a fun and welcoming community with a strong focus on connection, development and enjoyment.

The initiative is proudly led by four city-based clubs: Karori, Vic Uni, Eastern Suburbs and Brooklyn. In the 2024/25 season, we had a total of nine teams. The programme continues to grow each year.

City Suburbs was recognised nationally last year with the NZC Most Outstanding Female Initiative award. This year, the initiative received further acknowledgement, winning the Sports and Leisure category at the 2025 Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards.

If you live in the city and want to get involved, we would love to hear from you. There is a place for everyone. For more information, check out our social media channels.
